SCULPTURE AND OTHER WORKS

It was never my intention to do traditional woodwork or furniture making. Rather, I wanted to find ways to use the natural beauty of wood - and other materials - to create colour and art in sculptural form. My technique uses lamination processes, primarily with wood veneers but also other materials, along with resins, to create layered organically shaped structures.

The Arc of Dawn, 2025

This handcrafted wall panel is made from around 3000 layers of aluminium, walnut, oak, smoked beech and sapele wood veneers. It has been created through multiple laminations in overlapping arcs using concentric curved lines to evoke the early morning light. The panel is framed in ebonised maple.

The Speakeasy box was inspired by the era of Prohibition. It is handcrafted from santos rosewood, bronze and 24ct gold leaf. Inside is all the kit required to make fabulous cocktails - the rich wood grain, gilding and geometric details reflecting the timeless allure of Art Deco. This was my first commissioned piece.

Crafted from laminated European oak veneers, the Arcus is intended to mimic a single piece of solid wood that has been curved effortlessly to create a sense of softness and flow. The shard of aluminium, piercing the top of the table, adds a dramatic industrial contrast to the rich warmth of the oak.
